This grand oceanfront home is part of Historic New England’s preservation program. Vestige Carpentry replaced rotted beams and failed columns, rebuilt the barn’s substructure, and reinstalled original flooring. In the main house, we replaced 22 structural columns and added sump pits to combat rising sea levels—all with sensitivity to the building’s age and importance.
